Feature extension suggestion: Graphing in 2.9

How about adding the possibility to store the graphs on a different server (by ftp)? I suppose a large part of RouterOS machines is running from flash boot media, so storing the graphs to disk regularly (even only once a day) would put unnecessary wear to the flash drivers. On the other hand being able to keep graphs over the next reboot or failure surely is something even those users (including me) will want.

Of course those could still refer to using an external solution like RDDtool or MRTG, but why not just improve the (new) internal functionality here?

That's a great idea.

My company already developed this for our own-brand laser links.
The "webmanager" software uploads them as .png graphic files to a website. There are variants of each uploaded to see 5 minute, hour, day and week intervals etc. The "HTML" pages can be quite sophisticated to reflect this.
If the graph generation and upload was integrated into MT that would be fantastic. We are very happy to advise what we did if that helps "short cut" development of this feature.

Have a look at:
http://www.cablefreesolutions.com/webma ... anager.htm
(note data is not "live" on this demo. We have lots of real customers using this elsewhere)

Note these pages are (c) cablefree solutions, no copies to be made, thanks(!) If anyone wants to license these webpages for "own use" or the PC-side application, please do ask -

Regards

Stephen

We have started project http://www.billingo.com, which covers all these requirements, collecting data using snmp, storing, visualising in graphs and summarization, including customer portal, generating invoices etc. The price is very auspicious compared to similar billing systems.
