Let me know your config of Mikrotik AP ( Prism ? or atheros ?), if it is in AP_bridge mode then it will associate with TP-LINK bridge (Layer 2 bridging) , TP-Link is an atheros chipset MAC/BB.

TP-Link TL-WA501G doesn't work with 3.0RC11 hotspot

I upgraded few of my hotspots from 2.9.x to 3.0RC11 yesterday and all clients with TP-Link TL-WA501G stopped working. Fortunatelly, we have just two clients with this equipment, at least two of them complained until now.

This device is missing MAC clone feature and this seems to be the main problem.

When TP-Link TL-WA501G associates to our hotspot, we can see it's MAC address 00:19:E0:96:XX:YY in the registration table. However, in the DHCP leases table we can see clients network card's MAC 00:18:F8:11:XX:YY. Finally, in the ARP table we can again see TP-Link's MAC 00:19:E0:96:XX:YY. Then it is clear why this is not working, but it is not clear how it worked previously and what to do now to get it working again. Of course, the easiest solution would be to replace this AP with some other brand because we have just two complaints untill now, but this is not the real solution.

I will write to TP-Link support and ask them if they plan to incluce MAC clone support in some of the future firmwares.

Hi, I have the same problem with Mikrotik ant TL-WA501G. Clients TL-WA501G connects and after few seconds disconnects from mikrotik AP (ap-bridge mode).
I solved problem with oldest firmware from http://www.cyberbajt.pl/cyber.php?get=d ... CTL-WA501G.

Maybe you can contact the Manufacturers of those devices and ask them to look at this problem, so they fix it in the new firmware?

I asked them, but they answered "if you could connect with previous Mikrotik version and now you can't, then this is Mikrotik's problem" :)

They might make new firmware, they finally said, but I am not sure about this. Anyhow, we have just 3 pieces of this in the whole network, so it wasn't a big problem to replace them.
