I'm also very much interested in this Verizon USB modem MiFi U620L.
I was not able to get it to work on my RB951Ui-2HnD. The modem would be recognized
in system resources > usb, it would get a private 192.168.1.2 address, then shortly after
it would get a public ip, then it would eventually disappear form usb devices list. During the
time a public ip was available, I could never get it to pass packets. I tried several Router OS
versions including latest as of Jun 16 2017 (6.39.2) along with 6.38.5 all with same behavior
described above and earlier post regarding ARM architecture.
Is this modem CPU dependent? I have no issues getting it to work on hEX (RB750Gr3), running
latest 6.39.2.
Is it possible to get a list of compatible RouterBoard devices that will work, or some sort of
explanation on prerequisites/dependancies?
Hmm, I'm now realizing the description for the hAP AC lite says "USB 3G/4G modem" support, which
an earlier poster says this modem works on hAP AC lite. The descriptions for both RB750Gr3
and the RB951Ui-2HnD don't mention USB modem support, while the modem works in the RB750Gr3
but not the RB951Ui-2HnD. Is the issue the Atheros CPU in the RB951Ui-2HnD causing the problem?
Well I just did more testing. I started with an out of the box RB951Ui-2HnD. I performed the following:
- Added dhcp-client to lte1 with default route and peer dns enabled
- created interface list "allWAN" to include Eth1 + Lte1
- changed three default firewall rules input, forward, NAT where Eth1 was referenced and changed to addressList "allWAN"
This seemed to work fine, so there seems to be a configuration conflict with my deployed RB951Ui-2HnD. I tried disabling
my IPSEC peer and Policy, which seemed to allow the USB modem to pass packets, but not for very long (maybe a few minutes).
I will need to to some trial and error to see what is causing conflict and making the USB modem break connection with USB bus.
