OmniTIK U-5HnD POEout not strong enough for Axis M3004-v IP camera?

Tue Aug 02, 2016 12:17 pm

Hello,

I got this router recently and was hoping to use it to power my Axis M3004-V IP camera through POE but it (camera) won't boot. The cable length between camera and router is around 5m. Is there any reason it won't work, could it be that the POE output is weaker than the camera requires? Can this be fixed somehow by stronger power adapter for the router or else?

Thnx

Does the camera support passive PoE?
Most cameras only support active PoE 802.3af at.

In the datasheet, it specifies PoE 802.3af/802.3at Type 1 Class 1 max. 2.2W
So it will NOT work with your OmniTIK, nor with any other PoE enabled router or switch from MT's current products.
