5GHz Channel

Fri Aug 12, 2016 1:57 am

Hello, what is "P" and "DP" in 5GHz channels:

5180/20-Ceee/ac/P
5630/20-Ceee/ac/DP

I think it's something with DFS and detecting radar but what does P and DP stand for?

First time I have seen this.

It looks like whatever that is its only on wireless ac.

Maybe something to do with the regulatory channels and tx power

Same question "P", "DP" and I add:
Ceee
eeCe
What does the position of C mean?
Thank you.

C - Center of channel.
e - extension channel.

So if you have set 40MHz channel width, using 2400MHz frequency in your settings with Ceee will mean used 2400-2440MHz. With eeeC it will be 2360-2400MHZ.

From the manual:
Use of extension channels (e.g. Ce, eC etc) allows additional 20MHz extension channels and if it should be located below or above the control (main) channel. Extension channel allows 802.11n devices to use up to 40MHz (802.11ac up to 80MHz) of spectrum in total thus increasing max throughput.

My guess is that this would give a hint about D and DP:
Made some reconfigurations. Looks like it's because of Skip DFS setting.

When Skip DFS Channels is not checked this messages appears in logs and wi-fi interface setup is delayed for one minute:
capfive-MikroTik ST-hAP-AC-Lite3-1: do radar detect for 60 seconds on 5260/20-Ceee/ac/DP(20dBm)
capfive-MikroTik ST-hAP-AC-Lite3-1: radar not detected on channel 5260/20-Ceee/ac/DP(20dBm)
This way one of the APs selects a channel different from 5180 (it's always 5260 in my case).

When Skip DFS Channels is checked it always sets 5180 emmediately without any scan an all APs
capfive-MikroTik ST-hAP-AC-Lite3-1: selected channel 5180/20-Ceee/ac/P(20dBm)capfive
I would _seem_ DP is DFS-checked channels and P is non-checked.
