Caching WinXP SP2

Wed Oct 13, 2004 8:05 pm

Is there anyway to transparently cache WinXP SP2 with Mikrotik? Sure would save a lot of bandwidth.

problem is that MS round-robins servers (DNS names and their respective IP addresses, even there is load balancing - more IP addresses under one DNS name). The right solution could be comparing requested file name (and its size) to cached file (and its size) - then serving from cache. As this is 270MB or so download, this would definitely save a bit of bandwidth. Very often overseas :)
