Having quite a strange issue. We run a small wireless network. I actually just rent the towers, equipment from someone else. He does most of our support and then he has his own guys doing support for him. They can't figure out this issue at all.

We used to only use 4meg ADSL. I recently had a 20meg ADSL2+ Line installed. We desperately need the capacity. Problem is that for days we have been getting less than 5mbps from the line. Long story short is that yesterday I went and reset our modem and connected my pc straight to the modem. Got 17.33mbps on every single speedtest.

That said, the moment we connect it to mikrotik it barely reaches 5mbps again and very unstable.

Anyone have any idea what it could be?

So through your modem speed is fine? Through the mikrotik is slows down? where is the mikrotik? you say you have a small wireless network? sounds like it goes ADSL->wireless network on towers->end user?

Please post your config so we can see what is setup. Clearly an issue on config if through ADSL modem speed is fine.

Ohk, I will try to give as much information as I can as unfortunately I share the router with an alarm and security company.. This is actually the first time I am allowed onto the router itself and probably only because they are at a loss.

Please bear with me..

What we did after we got 17.33mbps by connecting the modem straight to a pc, is that we connected the modem to our router and the router straight to our pc - thus cutting out the all the other equipment, etc etc etc. Still only 5meg max.

I went and looked at the queues this morning and found that two queues were created: Queue1, Queue2, Queue3.. Queue2 and 3 belong to my interfaces. These had limits set for 4096 each. Changed them to unlimited. Now getting maximum 6meg, but still not close to 17meg.
