Plotting RX Strength

Please can you help me understand the Y axis on graph plots. I am currently successfully retrieving the RX Signal strength via snmp and testing this against a fixed parameter. However if I look at the history graph I cannot make sense of numbers on the Y axis. Given the number being returned is varying between -80 and -82 (db) the y axis is calibrated between 0-30, Is there any correlation. Thanks
