- Newbies get to see their actions in the GUI played out in the command line, thus helping them learn commands.
- Commands are easily copy/pasted out of the GUI instead of needing to go to the Terminal to do an export.
- It looks cool.
Well, from my point of view this kind of feature is more nice to have as it can be useful when building scripts and providing the administrative user feedback how the same configuration can be done from CLI. But if this feature is added, this should not be displayed as default view. This makes no sense to me.
Such feature is useful in the world of ASA, where the way you do things in ASDM is rather different from what you'd do if you configure the same via CLI. However the situation is rather different in Mikrotik world- the way WinBox (and also WebFig) is organized closely resembles (with just a few minor exceptions) the CLI menu structure. So what's the point in duplicating the information that is already available?
Fair enough opinion. Maybe have this feature with an option to disable. I think it will be helpful for me as I'm still learning RouterOS and seeing what I do in Winbox and its CLI equivalent might reinforce the learning process. This makes no sense to me.
