CRS 212 Cloud Switches and Fibre Problems

Hi,

Does anyome know if the CRS switches have issues with Fibre as getting very odd problems. Or if there is a specific setting.

Have configured the unit as a switch (as all I want to use it for is link cabinets together via fibre, as a switch), so have a Master Port on SFP and all the others are slaves of that port

Have set a IP assigned to one of the SFP ports for management and that seems to work when I plug into ethernet 1. So Ethernet One must be on same LAN.

However when fibre patches in, the link is up, but other end of fibre can't talk to the management IP. And no traffic such as DHCP passes though the SFP port. The other end is a Routerboard that goes into a Mikrotik ethernet to Fibre converter then out as fibre to the cloud switch. Everything is Mikrotik so assume not compatibility issues.

Spoke to distributor about it and they dont know of any issues, but the CRS 212 is new model. Only suggestion was upgrade firmware and os

Regards

Richy

You say that you assigned an IP address to "one of the SFPs".
Make sure you assigned the address to the master port, not any else, and try again.
