Hi guy,

I am trying to workout what is going wrong when I use my radius server.

Below is the log file from a test I carried out. It looks like the main problem is with the error failed to get ip from pool: std

[mark@Lobo916N1] > /log print
23:00:27 hotspot, debug 00:13:02:D6:6C:DF (10.5.50.249): failed to get ip from pool: std

failure: unknown id
(4)
23:00:27 hotspot,info,debug 00:13:02:D6:6C:DF (10.5.50.249): login failed: no address from

ip pool
23:00:56 hotspot, info, debug rudytest (10.5.50.249): trying to log in by http-chap
23:00:56 hotspot, debug rudytest (10.5.50.249): local user not found
23:00:56 hotspot, debug rudytest (10.5.50.249): sending RADIUS authentication request
23:00:56 hotspot,debug rudytest (10.5.50.249): Access-Accept from RADIUS
23:00:56 hotspot,debug rudytest (10.5.50.249): using profile <default>
23:00:56 hotspot, debug rudytest (10.5.50.249): getting ip address from pool
23:00:56 hotspot, debug rudytest (10.5.50.249): failed to get ip from pool: std failure:

unknown id (4)

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. I have been trying to fix this for a week solid now and can't seem to find the problem.

Thanks Mark

Mark, upgrade router to the latest RouterOS version, if the same error appears again, generate support output file and send it to support (support@mikrotik.com).

From what I have read, it looks like the Hotspot doesnt have a pool of addressed asssigned to it or it cant get an address because ti doesnt know where to get them from.

From within WinBox, go to IP then to Hotspot.
Is there an value in the Address-Pool column in the Servers tab?
If there is, then you need to make sure that addresses the pool is using is then able to be used by your device, either Ethernet, or Wireless which ever it is your users are connecting on.

Hope this helps.
