Hi.

You can use Ip hotspot option available on RouterOS, dependents on Level you can use more users
L4 up to 200 active users
L5 up to 500 active users
L6 unlimited by software (limited by hardware performance)

there is a wireless network that authenticates the devices by opening a web page with username and password. can
a mikrotik device authenticate somehow, or do i need some other means?

I think other posters are misunderstanding the problem. It sounds like you have a Mikrotik device as a wireless client on a 3rd party hotspot network, and want the Mikrotik to be able to log in by itself. Unfortunately this is not possible, as every captive portal has its own way of logging in that the Mikrotik device cannot possibly know about. You'd need some other device connected to the Mikrotik to authenticate on its behalf.

bumping this thread...

So when I point the router to the desired WIFI network, it connects, but I need to authenticate it somehow. When a computer connects, the page with an authentication server ip is presented where there is a need to enter username and pass.

I understand MT has no capability to authenticate this way, because it has no browser window. For example, PS4 authenticates when you connect and then go to user guide, the authentication page opens up first.

Would it be somehow possible to connect MT to the ip range of the authentication server, and make it pass through the authentication window (browser) to the computer connected to it, so the MAC address can authenticate with username and password.

I need the MT to be a client, for a stability purposes, and to have a couple of wired connections to it. I do not need it to share WIFI network further.
