Speed Limit per connection over EoIP Tunnel

Hi guys,

I have made a EoIP Tunnel for a costumer with speed limit of 20Mbps (I own a WISP and the tunnel is through my network).

The strange thing is that each conenction (for example FTP or a backup program he uses) does not get over 3 or 4 Mbps per connection. Running several parallel connections reaches 20Mbps (but each does not get over 4 Mbps).

I am not sure what the problem is. MTU is ok (1472 - windows servers), wired connections are ok (100Mbps full), I don't know what else to check.

Have you ever seen this? Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks

PS- The configuration is:
* My network is connected to eth1.
* eth2 is bridged with EoIP, so it is a transparent VPN (layer 2) for the costumer

are you running any simple queues or queue trees.

No, only some firewall rules, but removing them makes no difference...

Any idea?

Do you think changing from EoIP to MPLS (or other type of VPN) would make a difference?

I mean, it shouldn't, but I have no idea what is going on....

I had this same problem recently. I was running IP Sec over my eoip tunnel and removing that seemed to fix it.
