CRS226-24G-S+ Basic Switch Configuration

Mon May 01, 2017 10:29 pm

Hello,

I´m trying badly to get our new CRS226 Cloud Switches handling traffic just like any other brand I used in the past.

There will be several different VLANs on all the 24 access ports and I like to use both 10G uplinks to other switches on the campus as trunk ports.
I´m not able to configure "/interface ethernet switch egress-vlan-tag add tagged-ports" because I can only specify one of the SFP+ ports.
Also my access ports which have different VLAN IDs configured (/interface ethernet switch ingress-vlan-translation add ports=ether1 customer-vid=0 new-customer-vid=10 sa-learning=yes), are able to route traffic between them, without an IP-interface on the switch for regarding VLANs.
They just should not route between VLANs and forwared untagged or tagged packets as expected.
I found no other example of uplinks between two MikroTik switches, without configuring bridges for every vlan on them and "connect" the brides afterwards. From what I have understood, bridge traffic has to run through the switch CPU, which in the case of the Cloud Switches is not a wise decicision if I need performance on the customer site.
Additionally I like to provide a management IP address to the switch in one of the VLANs, but this is also not working like expected. The IP is shown in the WinBox Window, but not reachable. Not from the access port, whch resides in the specific VLAN nor any other port.

Is there anyone who just needs/uses these devices as switches without any Router-OS connections or specific interfaces with fixed IP addresses?

Kind regards.

What is different about config of SFP+ ports? That will explain why you can do this on one but not the other.

If there is no IP on the switch in a given VLAN then switch cannot be doing the routing.

Which examples have you tried to follow? I suggest you start here: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:CRS_examples
