hEX (RB750Gr3) - Bad capacitors! Why???

It was necessary to use solid-state capacitors (Al-E) for a long time already. The market has a large selection of solid capacitors from Japanese manufacturers CHEMI-CON, SANYO OS-CON, FUJITSU and NICHICON, which have been used for years in the motherboards of the world's leading vendors such as Asus and Gigabyte.

Why should I use solid capacitors? First, they have a much longer service life, and for all this time such capacitors do not lose their capacity. Secondly, solid capacitors are filled with a polymer and have better stability at high temperatures, i.e. Do not lose their capacity as sharply as in the case of electrolytic ones. Thirdly, TCs provide a larger current of pulsations. Fourthly, TCs have a lower equivalent series resistance (ESR), which is why they heat less. What does this mean in practice? In practice, solid capacitors have a service life of 500 thousand hours at a temperature of 65 degrees, while the lifetime of electrolytic capacitors under the same conditions will be 32,000 hours.

Cost comparison?
Remember the hEX is a "cheap" router and as such is built to a price point. They are more than likely built to exceed standard manufacturer warranty 8760 hours.

365 Days is the given guarantee by the shop. In Europe it would be 730 day and we have the same products.

So maybe it is clear to you that you misinterpreted Steveocee?

The original poster claimed they would last 32000 hours or about 3.6 years.
I think it is pessimistic but when it is true it is a reasonable lifetime for such a consumer device.
He can of course replace the caps when he wants.

I enough equipment wit those bad capacitors that are still going strong after 20 years of service. This kind of capacitors got a bad name by heavy loads and high temperatures in computers.

A polymer capacitor, or more accurately a polymer electrolytic capacitor, is an electrolytic capacitor (e-cap) with a solid electrolyte of a conductive polymer.
