Where was this mentioned? Is there any document?Only new in US MUM was a new chipset improvement of actual 802.11 ac wave 1 up to 700 mbps
I am asking myself how much an wave2 chipset actually costs. Do you have any pricing information?Maybe they are waiting on 802.11ac Wave2 chipset pricing to come down.
.
Was there a reference for this?Only new in US MUM was a new chipset improvement of actual 802.11 ac wave 1 up to 700 mbps
Those are old slides. We can get more now.700 meg wireless throughput, year right. You ain't gonna get that without the following:
- A faster CPU on the motherboard
- A 160 MHz wide frequency channel 2x2 , or a 40 MHz wide 6x6 channel.
Don't get me wrong. I am wanting a 160 MHz wide 2x2 AC wireless card and can use it now. ((( My 80 MHz Ceee 2x2 networks can only deliver about 500 meg max ))).

normis, on a 2x2 connection , what is the Mikrotik-current-hardware and Mikrotik-near-future-planned-hardware fastest connection rate and throughput rate possible. Those are old slides. We can get more now.700 meg wireless throughput, year right. You ain't gonna get that without the following:

This may be true, but wave2 is not just about speed but also much better simultaneous multi-client operation. This is good for highly congested areas (hotspots, universities, hotels, events, ...). I have not tested any wave2 product myself, but when talking with people who have, they say it works much better in situations where you have lots of users on a single AP.

What is now possible? Is this only between Mikrotik devices? What can be expected with capsman manager forwarding? I'm currently seeing nowhere near 700 with 6.40.3 on hap ac (support said 700mbps driver update was included as of 6.40RC18)Those are old slides. We can get more now.700 meg wireless throughput
No, we tested with iperf from a Macbook Pro (because it has a good wifi wireless chip with 3 chain antenna, not a lot of client devices have them). What is now possible? You are right. First wave2 chipset from Mikrotikthe Mikrotik cAP AC just passed FCC compliance and has an 802.11ac Wave2 capable chipset.
So it looks like we will have Wave2 #soon
I have seen model numbers floating around that line up with what you are saying, so with any luck we will have new home AP's from Mikrotik early next year.According to unconfirmed information in first half of Jan 2018 will be anounced new SOHO Acess Point with Wave2 support instead hAP AC (+ ISP version with SFP support)
We wait
PS:I'm more concerned about the poor quality of antennas, which affects the range. This is the biggest problem!
They do not have a good specialist in this field.
As long as they all come with SFP's
TBH a lot of products are due a SOC upgrade, CRS1xx, RB2011, hAP AC Lite, hAP AC, cAP, wAP AC..
I agree, Mikrotik need to focus on the antennas to improve RX performance on their AP's. When we test wAP AC vs Cambium e400, the Cambium has much better RF performance due to the better antenna design.
We unfortunately are also being forced into changing to another vendor, its very frustrating to read that other vendors using similar chipsets with a simpler OS have vastly superior performance.@XDefender
i think there is no new Wireless Device offense from Mikrotik,
We are looking to Another Systems / Vendors for the Future!

Can someone explain the financial logic of moving away from customers (WISP's) who volume purchase?Yeah disappointing
I sayed It some years ago Mikrotik change focus from WISP Wireless to Home Wireless and Enterprise Routing
I hope any new products that come out from Mikrotik will address new markets such as faster, larger more capability, and hopefully hit a home run with core high-end NOC equipment and address fiber-to-the-home markets with CPEs that have a complete package (fiber, wireless, VoIP & battery backup). As you guys probably know, MikroTik does not comment on unannounced products. You will have to wait and see what we have to show in one of the upcoming MikroTik user meetings, most likely the big European MUM in spring. As to which features have to prioritised - that is a thing where everyone has their own opinion, I guess.
*) wireless - new driver with initial support for 160 and 80+80 MHz channel width;
Well, FCC shows a lot of information. No need to comment on itAs you guys probably know, MikroTik does not comment on unannounced products. Well, I switched to MikroTik wifi access points (WAP AC, HAP AC) because of its features in CAPSMAN. And I´m looking forward to those cAP AC devices when they are ready to ship some time in (hopefully) Q1/2018.You can continue to talk mysteriously about your products that will appear. But I'm sure, by that time, many will switch to others.
We are disappointed in your products!
Your WiFI products are outsiders !!!!
