Replace the scsi drive with an ide drive,, system boots fine from dos and when I installed win95 it booted fine. Install the Mikrotik routeros, it installs fine from what I can see, prompts me to press enter to reboot. System reboots, then all I get is 99 99 99 99 99 across the screen. Any ideas.

Try Manual config for the disc CHS, instead of Auto setting. You may also need to turn off LBA. Even though you can see and format the drive, you can't always boot from it if the bios and OS don't see the same parameters for the drive.

Bill,

Thanks for the suggestions, but that did not work either... I have since been able to install a couple of different distros, on the IDE drive to see if it is a o/s vs bios configuration issue, and the only distro that seems to have a problem is the Mikrotik one. Anybody else with an idea?

I can remember I had a similar problem with a box with a SCSI controller.
Then I replaced it with a pure IDE box and it worked fine.
RouterOS does not support SCSI devices and may freak out when you have one.
