Testing 10g equipment?

Fri Jun 09, 2017 10:18 am

I bought a couple of CRS326 and wanted to test a 10g path. My original idea was to use the btest in the two switches, one in server mode and one in client, but apparently it's not possible (see here) because the devices are not powerful enough. Macgaiver suggested me to use CCR, but that's somehing I cannot do to perform a test, so my question is, would any of these setups would allow me to test 10g btest?
  • Windows server with 10g connectivity with btest client for windows as a btest client - crs326 as the server
  • Cloud Hosted Router with demo install (1 day) - cr326 as the server
  • No option to use the crs326 as the server, it can only do 10g on passthrough

Take X86/x64 hardware with at least 2x 10G interfaces,
install free 24h demo RouterOS license,
connect all 10G ports to device, use this setup:

An x86 device with a single 10G wouldn't work? I mean x86 - siteA crs326 passthrough - siteB crs326 as btestserver, to make the roundtrip from site A to B I would need two more10G sfps that I would like to avoid buying at the moment.

Traffic generator offer you additional statistics if traffic returns to the same device it is created, like latency and jitter and packet loss.
