SSL errors with hotspot redirect.

So I think I have beaten this to death googled all I can google and read all I can I hope someone has an answer for me.
I am doing a hotspot with https: redirect.
What I have working is captive portal and default chrome browser will redirect to my login screen with no ssl errors works fine.
As soon as I try google chrome I get ssl error net::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
I have tried both applying my ssl cert to the hotspot as I saw in how to and not applying it both with same error. As I said it works fine in captive portal and none chrome browser. What an I be missing?
