I just received the switch today. Version 2.0 is installed and I am attempting to upgrade to 2.4 manually. I have downloaded the file, selected it and begun the upgrade process by pressing the appropriate button. The interface indicates that the upgrade process has begun but it doesn't complete. What do I need to do?

Just for the record, I had all kinds of problems when upgrading CSS326. They are full of wonders.

First device was unable to upgrade. I was using manual upgrade procedure, because automatic one displayed "unable to download firmware". I downloaded correct firmware and tried to upload to css326. It said "do not interrupt", and it did that for about half a hour. I have tried many times with the same result. Finally, the device had rebooted itself and died. No lights, no link.

I have tried recovery procedure and it worked, the device had booted to firmware 2.0p. But still it was not possible to upgrade, and the switch was unable to boot normally (without recovery). It is dead for the moment, because I have no access to it.

For second device, I have tried to change my browser from Firefox to Chrome. Upgrade was successful this time. It takes literally one second to flash.

But then, when I had realized that 2.5 is too buggy, I had to downgrade. I made it a couple of times, until (when working from another PC) I had realized that the switch boots to recovery firmware 2.0p. Flashing via Chrome was unsuccesful then, every time it booted to 2.0p. But, this time, Firefox worked!

Update: I was able to recover dead device from the message above only after I had connected it via copper port. I was unable to flash it via optical SFP.

It looks like upgrade via SFP is impossible.

I have tried this approach on newly bought CSS326-24G-2S, however the web-interface only briefly shows "upgrading ... (don't interrupt)" and "rebooting..." notifications, quickly returning ( 2- 3s ) into standard web look reporting again "2.0 (built at Thu Jan 26 2017 12:43:16 GMT+0100 (Central Europe Standard Time))" .

Originally tried on Chrome, however same result on Firefox and IExplorer.

The Download&Upgrade feature has the same result as well.

Did you ever get this solved?

I'm in the same boat, can't upgrade from 2.0.

If I try the Download&Upgrade button it just says "Could not retrieve firmware".

I'm going through the same problem. I can upgrade to 2.4, anything beyond that the process hangs and I have to reset to 2.0 to be able manage the switch again. I'm pretty frustrated and am close to just returning the switch.

It is a strange problem indeed. I can upgrade up to 2.4, after that it is impossible to upgrade.
I will write to support a bit later and see what they have to say.

For those who can not advance past version 2.4, I got word from support and they have introduced a dhcp client at version 2.5 so very probably the switch gets an ip address from dhcp server and no longer answers to the default ip.
No I feel dumb , I should have checked my dhcp server for new leases.

So, there is no real issue, you can upgrade to 2.7, just check your dhcp server what address has assigned to the switch.
