Hex v3 ( RB750Gr3 ) EoIP/IPsec

Mon Nov 06, 2017 9:10 am

Hi,

I'm new in the forum, I have a quick question for hex and EoIP.
If we use EoIP and IPsec (aes-128-cbc) is this will use hardware acceleration for encryption in hex ?

From what I check hw accerl. should work just I need a confirmation.

Thanks

Yes, it will. In IPsec menu in security associations(I think) you can find a symbol of hardware encryption. Try to find it out there.

I believe it should use the hardware offloading for the IPSec,
However I'm thinking the EOIP will be CPU bound, It can be fast path however will still depend on cpu for encapsulation. If some knows otherwise please share

If you don't actually need the functionality of EoIP (tunneling layer 2) then you could use straight IPSec tunnel mode and maintain an accelerated state with little overhead from the tunneling action.

Sorry for late reply, Happy new year to every one.

Just for info, EoIP/IPsec and hex (r3) use hw encryption
