L2TP/IPSEC meltdown?

Tue Nov 21, 2017 9:33 am

Hi,

It's on 6.41rc47, as L2TP/IPSEC VPN client: on average the throughput is very low, at start of speed tests the throughput goes high but then plummets..
A weird thing noticed: the throughput improves considerably when I run the Packet Sniffer on the L2TP interface!
Does anyone have an insight into what happens here and how to fix the problem?

Thanks much

Running Packet sniffer disables FastPath and Fasttrack. Check your firewall settings if you have fasttrack enabled.

Similar thread: very strange slow web access but can be solved by packet sniffer?

Yes! Actually found it myself ;-) , before seeing your reply: disabling the Fasttrack FW rule solves it. Disabling the FastPath decreases the throughput though. Thanks!
