Anybody know how to self make a no error ssl certificate?

Mon Dec 18, 2006 9:59 pm

Is it possible to self make an SSL certificate which does not throw up errors in the browser? It seems such a shame to pay for one when it's just on a local LAN! I managed to make one with only one error that the browser is unable to varify the authority that issued the certificate. Maybe I missed something?

You will get errors (at least 1) if you dont use a cert issuer thats part of your browser / device.

The first 20 people to put a CSR request in on the following site and then email support [at] changeip.com will get free geotrust SSL certs today: http://www.changeip.com/ssl/configure.aspx Put the cert into the cart (not functional yet) and email us and we'll process it. Merry Christmas all.
