Optimizing SXT Link

Wed Dec 27, 2017 6:02 pm

Hey guys,
Somewhat new to MikroTik

equipment used
SXT5 AC lite
SXT5 HG ac

I have a problem that i think is wierd.
I see online that the sxt ac's have a -72db requirement for ac speeds
Im getting around -62, Signal to noise of around 40 yet i only can get around 20/20 CCQ, therefore i get a terrible speed

I was really hopping to get something around 300Mbps.
but im only getting this

( Test was done on the other MikroTik device thats why we see it inverted )

the link is around 1.6KM long

How can i improve this link ?

Also one question for you experienced guys
if i have that kind of signal those it absolutely mean i have a good LOS ?
Could i have some refraction problem anyway if i get that signal ?
here is a top view of the location where it could be the case..

With this ccq i say the channel is not free
Or you have an survace that reflect the signal
How much EIRP is allowed to you?

Hey thanks for the response mistry7

It is posible that the house infront of the antena does not clear the fresnel zone. But it shouldnt be by alot..
Any how i might just try to raise the antena a couple of feets and see

All chanel look like they are free. When i do the frequency scan. I almost never see an frequency go over 3% of use
Plus i took the last 80mhz chanell where there was no use at all

I just googled what was EIRP but can’t figure out what your asking me,. Sorry
What information should i provide that would help knowing how much eirp i am allowed ?

EDIT —————
After some more research i am allowed to 36dBm in Canada

Hi,

it is possible to use Channel with lower Frequency?
Start with 20 or 40 Mhz Channel with 802.11
Your Signal level for 2km is ok at -62db
300MBit netto, if never see that with Mirkotik ac......

There are ton's of fresnel calculators on the web. Some of them are pretty impressive.
