Ok. May be it also depend on the CAPsMAN configuration ? If yes what are the most limit factor ? The CAPsMAN (in my case CRS124) or the CAP (in my case hAP AC) ?Umarcus,
wireless throughput strongly depends on client wireless interface (1chain/2chain/3chain/etc.).
hAP AC and modern macbook may reach ~600-700Mbps, hAP AC to hAP AC ~700Mbps of _real_ throughput.
+1waiting for that 16 ports poe switch!
What about matching non-secure traffic with wildcards directly in firewall? Still not possible?* Match websites in firewall
Currently we don't have support for the wave2 features in the software for this board. So its my understanding that the new hap ac has wave 2 support?
Does that mean that the driver does as well? i.e. does it support all features of wave2 already or will that come at a later stage? Can the AP transmit to multiple clients on different spatial streams simultaneously?

Did you see something I missed?RouterOS v7, how cool is that!

Does this device provide more real WLAN throughput as the hAP ac (i saw never more than ~130MBit even if i had a 866MBit WIFI 5GHz connection) ?
Thank you for that hint. Exactly same issue here. Hopefully MT could solve that issue. Regards...

Im seeing same max speed issues (on hapAC, wAP ac) , with EXTENSIVE testings (and side-by-side comparisons, in varied environments, to other mfg 3x3 5g ac products ).

In CAPSMAN setup with CAPSMAN forwarding enabled the CAP creates a tunnel to the CAPSMAN controller. This needs CPU power. With CAP AC with its 4 cores I expect higher throughput.Ok. CAP AC can be powered by 802.3at/803.3af - Did I miss something?including PoE 802.3at/af support design! Stable Enterprise switches just don't do passive-poe 24V and is a nightmare to configure (shorts if you don't watch out)
hAP ac2 is passive POE in, that's what disappointed me. I need those extra Gb ports, but all my infrastructure is 802.3af/at based. Is this support planned? All the Qualcomm SOCs these days are Wave2, it would be great if the software could support such features as client devices like cell phones have had Wave2 support for a long time as they're almost all using Qualcomm chips too.Currently we don't have support for the wave2 features in the software for this board. So its my understanding that the new hap ac has wave 2 support?

Yes, I want an 8 port switch with decent routing capabilities too. Small CRS is not up to it.Nice new products, but honestly there's too many those small =<5 ports routers models.
HeX and such are very capable but most of sites I operate needs more than 4 and less than 9 ports for LAN.
I think it was a mistake...The what and where now? Nothing that I see in that Issue mentions V7???RouterOS v7, how cool is that!

Me too. Sadly CRS328-24P-4S+RM is not announced officially.Excellent news on the PoE switch! Nice work, MikroTik. I have a 28 IP network camera installation coming up in May of this year. Could really use a rackmount 24 port PoE switch too!

RB2011 definitely needs refresh. HeX and such are very capable but most of sites I operate needs more than 4 and less than 9 ports for LAN.

That's a different product that is coming soon. Can we see hap ac2 with at least 10 gigabit ethernets and microSD card slot?
Oooh, I would like to see something with 2.5GBASE-T and 5GBASE-T https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2.5GBASE-T_and_5GBASE-TThanks. When soon and what are the specifications of it?
And while youre at 24port powe why not 48port poe.Excellent news on the PoE switch! Nice work, MikroTik. I have a 28 IP network camera installation coming up in May of this year. Could really use a rackmount 24 port PoE switch too!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but was this not announced at the 2017 MUM EU? Some distributors got their hands on these last september I read somewhere and we eagerly anticipate them ! They had a slot on the switches page in the hardware section of the website with an R.R.P. attached but these have disapeared.Me too. I've received information from our main Mikrotik supplier that CRS328 (24 PoE AF/AT) is already in production/sales.
Please post a new question in the appropriate category. Why are you commenting on the Newsletter topic?Hello, I bought an RB3011 router.
I own two WAN connections with public IP and fixed optical fiber.
I would need a basic configuration for my RB3011 where I can route the outbound traffic of my LAN for one of the two WANs and the incoming traffic to local servers for the other WAN.
I thank whoever can indicate me or redirect me towards the solution.
Thank you so much!!
these are home routers, not really ideal for a complicated hotspot server and custom login pages.trying to run a hotspot on it with just a little bit of html/img pages will run the device completely out of flash memory.
I ordered one to replace a 962, our vender said they expect to have them around the end of march.new hAP ac² Dual Band Desktop AP
good choice
I see UBNT announced an outdoor weatherproof gigabit NanoSwitch today. Looks like I may be introducing my first model of non-MT equipment into my network. Didn't really want to do this.Love the POE switch. Is it really that much additional engineering expense to offer an additional version of these devices in a weatherproof case like the PowerBox? Do you believe there is no market? Outdoor equipment is the norm where we are.
How is this different from PowerBOX Pro? https://mikrotik.com/product/RB960PGS-PBI see UBNT announced an outdoor weatherproof gigabit NanoSwitch today. I realize I can use a PB Pro as an outdoor gig switch if I am forced. But the advantage of not using a $100 router in places where I need a $40 POE switch should speak for itself. (Yes, I realize the switch in this newsletter is $180, but it's eight ports, for I would have to buy two PB Pros.) I suspect MT could put out a four-port weatherproof POE switch at nearly the same price point as UBNT.How is this different from PowerBOX Pro? https://mikrotik.com/product/RB960PGS-PBI see UBNT announced an outdoor weatherproof gigabit NanoSwitch today. Just that it's specifically a switch?
PowerBox Pro is essentially the RB960PGS (hEX PoE) board in an outdoor/weatherproof case. And the former is $20 more expensive ($99) than the latter ($79). Now it appears that a switch similar to PowerBox Pro router would be the RB260GSP ($55.95) in a weatherproof case and with the expected price tag of $55.95+$20=$75.95. I.e. much closer to the PowerBox Pro than to the UBNT offering.I suspect MT could put out a four-port weatherproof POE switch at nearly the same price point as UBNT.
