Mikrotik map2nd

Fri Feb 02, 2018 8:00 pm

Hi everyone , thanks for letting me join the forums as i need some seriously newbie help :)
Currently to get internet in our Motorhome i have a Motorhome iBoost Wifi setup which consists of the Mikrotk Map2nd and a NanostationM as the aerial ( i think with their own software on it )
Well lately its be breaking down and stopping working so i was not sure what part of the setup was faulty so i found out the "bare equipment" that is used for this setup so i ordered a new Mikrotik Map2nd box and a NonostationM aerial ( Both with stock settings / firmware on them )
Now since getting the new equipment and messing around I am now pretty sure that it is the iBoost Mikrotik box that has went faulty and most times it is failing to provide power Via POE to turn the Aerial on , whereas the new Mikrotik powers up the aerial ok ( using the same power source ), where as the old one only powers it up very very occasionally,
So now i've got the hardware sorted i just need to sort out the "software" part , is there anyway i can "copy" the settings or firmware or software from the original Iboost Mikrotik box onto the NEW Mikrotik box as when i connect via 192.168.88.1 i do not have a clue what settings to change in the "Factory" software so that i can get the Mikrotik Map2nd to communicate with the Nanostation so that in turn i can select the wireless network that i want the Nanostation to connect to.
I hope the above makes sense :)

I typically use Winnie. But left side files there is a backup button. Uncheck encryption and do a backup. Then download the file to your computer. Plug in the replacement map. Login files on the left side upload the backup file. After its finished uploading click the restore button. Select the file and click restore.

Hi thanks for the reply, as i'm a total newbie i have no idea what "winnie" is , when i did a search for it here on the forums it just returned this thread , so i went to google and it returned various software from parent managing software to e.mail software , where can i download this winnie from ?
Also how do i connect the mikrotik boxes to the laptop ? just via an ethernet cable between laptop >> Mikrotik box ETH2 Poe out ??
Also i have since discovered that the mikrotik box that i want to take the settings from is a RBmAP2n and the new box i want to put these settings onto is a RBmAP2nD ( does that D at the end make any difference ? )
I Know the ip address to connect to the new replacement box is 192.168.88.1 ( as per the instructions ) but yet this ip address does not connect to the old box.
