Running Netinstall from MacOs using Wine

Hello,

I am trying to get netinstall running on my Mac running High Sierra and Wine (winebottler)
Every single I try to open Netinstall, a message will pop up saying : Netinstall boot failure 10013

I can't run Wine as root as I am getting another error : LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/Wine.app

Anyone has tried and succeed?
It would be nice to be able to run that app without using Windows (Boot camp).

Thanks!

Hi.
How the Netinstall uses port 67 UDP, you need to do a sudo (root) on wine to works.
Another option is to use a windows VM with bridged interface (and run as administrator).

Hello,

I tried with sudo but no success still have a "bind bootp failed error". Tried with Wineskin and Win bottler no success. Any idea?

also tried this to get working on MacOS X for years....
still no success ...

is there any "official" way (maybe a step-by-step guide for how to build with winebottler) to get NETINSTALL working on Mac OS X?

Try:
sudo -H -u root "/Applications/Wine Stable.App/Contents/MacOS/wine" /path/to/netinstall.exe
Use your Wine, the path above is only an example. I managed to use it once this way. But haven't done it for a while....

A tutorial in German can be found here: https://blog.effenberger.org/2017/06/05 ... tallieren/

Best.
