I have a theoretical question. Everybody knows that unlimited p2p is a killer for 2.4 Ghz netrworks. What's the main factor? Amount of data to handle, too many connections, too big pps rate or anything else?
im aware of this, i just was curious as to how big the impact on wireless.. specifically when serving laptop clients.
i have one hotel install and on that a que set at 256k upstream and that is generally full always..and i can still get individual 2.4g users with > -83 rssi downloading/ bursting to 3mbit (max of the line) and pings across to a wds repeater still average ~10ms ..this is the only results i know of / have. tks
Wireless is especialy weak on that because of it's nature: time sharing. It simply does not handle large number of small packets well. That's why p2p, some network gaming and VoIP, are always a problem.
