Replace 2011UiAS-2HnD with Hex S

Sun Jul 29, 2018 8:09 pm

Guys I plan to replace my 2011UiAS-2HnD with Hex S
On 2011UiAS-2HnD I have configured:
1. two WANs with static IP (on port 1 and 2)
2. DHCP server
3. DNS server
4. CAPsMAN for cAP ac and cAP lite
5. VPN L2TP
6. some firewall and mangle rules
7. some Queues

What is a proper way to move configuration from 2011UiAS-2HnD to Hex S?

Export config from 2011, read through and copy only needed config. Safest way.
You can try import the whole config from 2011, but you might get trouble with port numbers, different switches and so on.

Agree with Quackyo, and even then be prepared for possible differences in the way the hardware works. I recently tried to move config from a hAP AC Lite to a hAP AC. I thought it should be pretty close and didn't expect to see any differences. I ran into real issues and differences with VLAN config that took a day or two to get sorted.

New terminal
/export file=leaving

Then download that file to you computer an open it in note pad. Edits made there allow for dumping into your new router.
