2.4G-turbo

Fri Nov 12, 2004 4:00 pm

i would like to know the following....

i have a atheros card AR5213

i know it support 108Mbit in windows
i installed it in my mikrotik router with level 5 license

now i see it in the interface list.

i do a interface wireless> set wlan1 band=2.4ghz-g-turbo
now i wonder .... under basic rates.
shouldn't there be some rates between 54 and 108 to choose from.
and should the frequentie list get smaller???

because choosing this doesn't do anything....
i have a max connection (testlab) of 54Mbit
i don't see anything higher dan 54Mbit in the supported rates.

what to do...

I have a dlink dwl g520 card. My 2.8.10 MT shows that its a 5212 atheros card. Dlink writes that this card supports 108mbps. Do I have to upgrade to recognize this card as 5213, or this card is really a 5212?
Anyway dous anybody use this card?

Sorry to be a bit offtopic, but its als about 2,4 turbo

@piwi3910

Turbo mode means that your card use 2 channels, so if you have a good signal and set your card in 54Mbit or auto, windows will connect at 108Mbit, but only if you set the channel to 2437. :wink:

@mip

D-Link DWL-G520 is one of the best cheap wireless cards I've tested in MikroTik RouterOS. Unfortunately, there is several different hardware versions. I've only tried out HW:A1 and HW:B2 and the latter is best of them i.e. best performance in turbo mode.

The only channel you can use for turbo mode is 2437 and this also applies to access points, wireless routers etc. 8)
