RB3011UiAS Password was changed?

Thu Aug 30, 2018 3:50 pm

Hey guys, So i have this problem where my RB3011UiAS password was changed and ive had the same password ever since i set a password the day i purchased it. Im unable to access my RB3011UiAS Through Winbox now as it keeps saying Incorrect username or password.

Am i going to have to reset my box and redo the settings i done?

Go on then, amuse us by specifying what RouterOS release you are running.
And then go and upgrade it to something secure. And set your firewall properly.

It's almost certainly the standard Winbox vulnerability which you can easily find on the forum.

I never understand the big deal of these "lost access" posts. Why not wipe, reinstall, and restore your backup? It takes just a few minutes.

I'll bet he/she was alluding that the OP may have a version susceptible to the credential theft bug, so the OP could simply download their creds from the router in clear text and log in.

Some of us never did backups (or never copied them off-device) ... until reality bit us. :wink:

@tippenring

Ah! Thanks for that.

People just don't get the pitfalls of (poorly) written messages. ;)
