I have found a few forum posts covering this topic but to me they all seem pretty vague.
I want to run a CCR1036-12G-4S-EM on one of our DC only sites.

Please advise of the following:
1) Can you bypass the AC-DC PSU and direct attach +24vDC to the 2-pin molex on the board?
2) What is the voltage range? i.e 9-36v like other RB models? OR will I need a low voltage cut out when the batteries get low?
3) Will the health status still work if PSU is bypassed?
4) Other recommendations / comments

1) Yes, you can.
2) I'm not sure, but we use 19v DC PSUs on some CCR1036s and they work fine. I very much doubt that CCRs have as wide an input range as other RBs though.

4) I recommend reading this thread, even though it doesn't directly apply to your case, as it contains lots of info on the subject: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=69422&hilit=CCR+DC+Power#p369673 (keep in mind that some of the information there is old though. CCR1036s no longer have 2 Molex connectors, for example).

We've replaced our CCR1036 PSU's with complete non-OEM units, you can definitely just hit on the molex headers. We supply 24v constant, as we are still technically powering off AC, but we did ours as there are 2 headers on the board (A+B power) but they only manufacture with single PSU, so we replaced to give ourselves dual power.

As long as you are feeding close to 24v i wouldn't wildy fluctuate, you should be fine. Probably voids warranty though.

May I ask which dual power PSU did you chosen?

We used 2 separate standalone generic 24v PSU's.

We actually crammed 4x24v PSU's in a 1RU box - to power 2x CCR1036's. The box had A+B AC feed, and each AC feed powered 2x PSU's, then one PSU from each feed into each CCR.

Be aware that new revision CCR use 12V input not 24V!
More than 12V will void warranty and damage any new CCR revision devices.
