I think my routerboard has been compromised

Mon Oct 01, 2018 8:09 pm

I think my RB1100AHx2 routerboard has been compromised, I cannot restore any backup or do a reset with no configuration, how can I check this out?.
It is on version v6.3.1, I know there are later versions but that is the versions of my backup, I will upgrade once I get the backup in

It is even worse, I cannot even netinstall anything, it does not show up in order to do it, I can still use the router by manually configuring it but cannot upgrade, downgrade or load backups

Hello,

Netinstall can be difficult some times. Have you disabled the unused network interfaces on your computer before starting netinstall?

It might help.

Try also disabling the firewall. Damned thing always puts students in hot water during labs ;)

I have used Netinstall on this device in the dim and distant past without any problems, I am using eth13, will try disabling firewall and all unused ports.

This RB1100 AHx2 has been replaced by an RB1100AHx4 and after it was taken out of main service it was reset to factory without any problems, whatever has happened has happened while I have been experimenting with it as my own internal network router, something, someone must have got at it before I shut the doors.
