Check Wans up - ping fail 5 times before Wan down etc

Been doing some research and I'm surprised I haven't found a similar script that has been done before. I have some Tiks connected only by LTE, so using ping gateway to check if circuit is up isn't ideal. Also it isn't uncommon to drop the odd ping so don't want a load of false negatives.
These are some older scripts which are along the same lines I'm looking for.

Is there a go to script that I havent found that everyone uses? My scripting skills are limited and would prefer to have a base to start with and adapt to my requirements.
Basically looking for:
Number of Wans to check:2
Number of host to ping:2 (ie try 8.8.8.8 first if fails check 208.67.222.222)
Number of failed consecutive pings for wan to be deemed offlinrle:5
Number of consecutive pings for wan to be deemed online:3
Will want some reports / notifications but even I should be able to script something for that.
