We setup a wAP 60Gx3 PMP network in Prospect Park the other day for the NYC Half Marathon with 3 stations. Overall, it worked out but the setup was slightly frustrating.

We found the alignment process to be just as difficult or worse than the LHG 60G. There seems to be a mismatch in RSSI on the station vs the sector. Even if you get -55 on the station, the sector only reports -70 or so. However, these numbers jump around too much to know what you really have.

Additionally, you can get one station connected with stable MCS 8 modulation, then go to bring another station online and now the 1st station no longer keeps MCS 8. We had a great connection for video to the Jumbotron, but then bringing up the starting line caused the video at the Jumbotron to start breaking up & cutting out. Very annoying.

Some other minor issues like the "Distance" in /interface w60 monitor would show from the wrong station. The correct distances for 2 stations were 164.36m & 149.83m. But at the end of the day, the sector started reporting 164.36 & 164.36m. Nothing moved, and obviously they can't be the exact same distance so there must be some software glitch when it reconnects. Not too big a deal though.

After all the links were setup, it performed well but I don't think we would this PMP for an event again until the software becomes more stable.

We've been testing one of the 60Gx3s. We replaced one of our normal 60G APs and have noticed that the customers outside of the normal 60 degree sector don't have nearly the stability of those within the 60 degree sector. For instance, last night it rained and one of our customers within the normal beam width had connection through most of the night with minor connection drops (he was even gaming and it was ok), but our customer outside of the 60 degree beam width was out for 3 hours. There isn't a huge distance disparity between the two clients I am comparing either.

Hopefully they make some updates to fix the issues because I've been really pleased with the w60G products overall. The updates have consistently made things better on our devices.
