Banning client from AP-Bridge

Thu Apr 04, 2019 9:39 pm

Hey guys!
My setup is the following: Router to the internet is at my ISP's local seat. I am connected to that router via radio link and I have a MikroTik hAP lite at home set up as a AP Bridge. All my clients are (obviously) connected to that bridge which is hosting my wifi at home.
And now I wanna know if it's possible to "ban" a specific MAC address from my wifi access point and how I'd do that or if I have to ask my provider as the Gateway of all devices is the IP address of his router.
If you need some more specific information, just ask.
Thanks in advance!

That is quit simple:
1.) in the Wifi interface tab, unclick "Default authenticate". This means now the Wifi Radio will only allow someone to access Wifi if the MAC address is in the Access List
2.) Inside the tab "Access List" create a new entry for the device with its MAC address, define which Radio IF it is allowed to connect etc.

You can also do it in a simple way: first keep "Default authenticate" and check under "Registration Tab" devices that are connected.
You can select those entries you want to allow in the future and with right click: "copy entry to access list" it will do it automatically.
You will now see that device in the access list where you can edit it if needed.

You repeat that for all clients you want to add, and then you un-click "Default authenticate".

Hope this helps
