We are seeing similar issue. We have a CCR1072 as our core. It keeps hanging randomly and some of the services stops (in our case, GRE tunnel, pptp server so far). support hasn't been very helpful. Three times they asked for supout file and everytime they replied with "Need more info".

We have seen this also but not in a while. We reworked Firewall filter rules to get the CPU load down and it go more stable.
Problem seems to be worse when the CPU load is highest.
And using packet sniffer with Winbox drives the CPU up and can crash the system as well.
Also it does seem more stable with the latest releases. We are running 6.44.2

Any of you are using Ethernet port for something different of managing?
If it's used for routing, firewalling or anything it can hang the router

Hello, in our isp we had the same problem when we wanted to update a ccr1036 for a ccr1072 the team only does CGNAT, so deactivating the connection tracking was not an option. The CCR1072 restarted alone, we solved it by applying RouterOS version 7.0beta, although I would not recommend doing this before checking other options, I wanted to share my experience with you for the person who has no other alternative.

Remember that CCR1072 works fine with v6.38.3, I use this version without issues the last years.

Do a
- logging in action=disk (can be done at separate USB drive)
- check if watchdog not create the autosupout.rif - if do then open it at MikroTik Account and view log's
- connect a console cable to one of server's to log output or reach alternative access to MikroTik when he have "hang"
In years I see the kernel panic's, IPv4 stack crash, VPN tunels do reload or works as onedirrectional.
This means when we use MikroTik then own script's and external access to device is very good to debug a problem.

Don't waste your time! The only thing that would save you is:
/ip firewall connection tracking set enabled=no
On the video below you could clearly see, that the problem doesn't depends on other configuration:

Remember that some features depends on connection-tracking!

Are there news on this issue?
I would need to get an upgrade for our 1036, and I was looking at 1072 but I have read so many issues.
Maybe in the recent hardware the issue is resolved?

You both know that anyone not answer me about logs #8, console access, etc. and not write here what he receive with support.
All people here just write general "it's hands".
