Linking Bridges wirlelessly

Mon Mar 26, 2007 6:10 pm

On my main router, I have two bridges, a PAID bridge and a free bridge.

Each has its own network, dhcp server, and Hotspot running on it, and two virtual APs added to each. This all works great.

I then have two other repeaters, that are connected to this main router, via WDS, and each has a bridge that repeats the first “Paid bridge”

My question is how do I extend that free bridge to the other two repeaters? I’m thinking EoIP tunnel, then create a free bridge on each repeater and add the EoIP tunnel to it, which connects back to the IP of Main router.

I’m just very hesitant to use EoIP after my recent experiences (removing tunnel caused hang, requiring physical reboot and plug into Ethernet port)…and two of these repeaters are 35 ft. up in the air. anyother way to do this other than EoIP links?

thanks

You might try to run tagged vlans over the WDS links and then add the vlan interfaces as bridge ports where appropriate...
