Backyard WiFi Coverage

Sat Apr 13, 2019 4:38 pm

Hi,All!!
I want to ask for some help for choose right wireless device for my backyard. I use mikrotik devices in my house. There are 4 cap ac inside my house and one wap ac outside. I managed them through CAPSMAN. But I am not satisfied with outside coverage, because wap ac is on the wall of my house and can't cover entire yard. Can I use SXT 2 ot BaseBox2 or some other device to change wap ac for more coverage.
I do not need from 5ghz outside. Will one of these devices cover more area than wap? And can I manage these devices through CAPSMAN?
Thank You

wAP ac is omni directional. sxt2 is better than basebox (if in the basebox you mount the omnidirectional antennas). I would suggest trying one of the cAP ac mounted in the same place the wAP is. From my experience cAP ac is far better than the wAP.
Also what is the area of your backyard?

What are your statistics with cAP ac? I've been looking to get reviews about it from real users.

Why muck about with indoor stuff and pretend a wall is not going to have a detrimental effect.
This unit looks well made for an outdoor scenario.

I don't know what statistics can i give you since I have saved none. I have cAP ac in many clients, hotels, bars, school etc. Normally we use them also with the second port to power another cAP and this have saved a lot of trouble.
I have clients having a bar of 200 square meters, with one cAP ac and offering free internet. With 2.4 that is already crowded and slow, I can not talk about anything special, but in 5GHZ i have seen 30+ clients working very good and without worries.

Seems there is time for me to save some more exact data from these devices, because i understand the info i'm giving is very vague. :(

My backyard is near 25 meters deep, but there is some obstecles like trees.
I Will try with cap ac.
I thinking about sxt, because it is with 60 degree antena and maybe it Can transmit deeper in the yard.
Maybe someone have experience with sxt or other device
