Routing issue - virtual AP's

Sun Apr 01, 2007 9:14 pm

This is a large mfg yard with a WDS mesh with several AP's all connecting back to the primary AP mounted on the office. This is for LAN traffic. We have connected a 2nd Internet feed to the primary AP and created virtual AP's on each mount in the yard. These virtual AP's are configured as MT Hotspots to allow employess and guests to surf. We want the virtual AP traffic routed over the 2nd Internet feed while the original AP's route over the LAN and use the LAN internet feed. We've managed to make it work on the primary IP using routing marks with load balancing, but can't seem to make it see the marks on virtual AP's farther out.

what do you mean by "make it see the marks on virtual AP's farther out"? A routing-mark by itself is local to the router where it is defined and assigned. Unlike IP TOS bits or ethernet 802.1p priority information it is never written to a packet and thus can not travel from one router/AP to another. You'd have to define routing-marks all over again on each router/AP.
