Yes we are currently beta testing for you guys. I am just looking for alternatives. We would like something that we can host, so we are not relying on other people's network except our own. I do like what I see from you guys so far. But, what it comes down to is how you guys will offer it.

that is our HotSpot manager in case you really missed the announcement (http://www.mikrotik.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1414)

dwright: we will have a bakup (mirror) system when we are ready to launch the system. We will offer small `backup` boxes that you can put in your enviroment, and use them even with no internet, but when online - they will sync with our server and get all the latest files and databases. if we can manage to make it - those backup servers could even work in a network, so that they sync with the server that is the closest. well you get the idea.

Looks good, I've put about 10 hours into a custom hotspot system for us here, but that will do the job :)

Any idea on a timeframe to release?

Any idea of cost?

I am about to setup a live commercial test, so does this system (once i've registerd) support multiple users?

thx

the beta test system supports everything, it's not a demo - it's a full working product. please try it and tell us if you find something unclear, if you think something needs improvements etc

Hi,
I don't have any HotSpot, but I've been play with radius .. many brand of it.
I gave many unofficial assist to people around me about networking including HotSpot.

There is 2 common asked question from them :
1. Force disconnect (kick-out)
2. Billing desk

1. Force disconnect : Is your HSM (Hotspot manager) can send a kick-out request to the HS-gateway whenever the user run out of their time-limitation (Pre paid or per login time limit) ?
If So, does this feature compatible with other-brand Radius Client or is it just for RouterOS ( as NAS, HS, PPPoE, PPTP) ?

2. Billing Desk.
Many people want to operate a direct charge hotspot .. we can cosider it as Wireless-net-cafe.
There will be a cafe Cashier on that location.
We Can not give them a right to touch the HSM administrator web Interface, So I think it'll be great if You can give us an OCX so that people can use this with VB or delphi To create aplication that :
- One button push to generate and print a random user and password
- Check out
=+ Request the user transfer-byte and Time from HSM
-+ Disabled the username

The HS user have to be able freely create their billing-desk application with it.

And BTW. the DMASoftlab's Radius manager have a reasonable price to me. I don't know their features yet

OOpps, Is that right that Mikrotik HSM can allocate diferent connection speed to each logen in user ?

Keep up the great work

Sincerely
