User Manager for RB5XX in Beta 7 Not there...

Tue Apr 17, 2007 11:33 pm

So...
I see referances to "User Manager" the change logs for Beta 7 for RB5XX
But there is no package??

It is available for i386 in B7 and 2.9.X for RB5XX but the package is not to be found in the B7 for RB5XX packages..

I have "looked" at the single upgrade package as well as the "All-Packages" it just is not there...

Is this just the way it is?
Is the user Mgr for 5XX in 3.0 going away or is it just an oops.

Or am I going senile !!!

My bet is on the senile thing !!! :D

Just wondering...

Things that make you go Hmmmmm....

It looks like they just forgot to link to it...I managed to get the file by going to http://www.mikrotik.com/download/user-m ... ta7-ns.npk (I just took the URL for the x86 package and added "-ns" to it!).

user manager is NOT recommended on routerboards. too little resources, too little space.

All routerboards? Isn't RB532 with 64MB RAM and maybe 512MB CF sufficient for 2.9 and User Manager?

It really depends on how many users on hotspot as well as how long the data will do you want to keep.
Some guidance for reliable AAA Services, pls refer to http://mum.mikrotik.com/presentations/2 ... Boingo.pdf.

you can use the CF only for proxy cache
