900 Mhz frequencies

Wed May 09, 2007 12:14 pm

I have been doing some testing using a SR9 card in a 532 v2.9.42 6dbi Omni and SR9 in a 133 v 2.9.42 9dbi Yagi NLOS 5km

They are not running at full power as our regulations will do not allow.
The links seam very stable and I can understand with 2.4 frequencies they overlap but with the 900 channels overlap between 4 to 6 seams odd especially at 5MHz
The big question is why does it work on 2412 and what is the output frequency?
Why does it not work on channel 3 ( 2422)?

Here are the tests link details:

2412 noise floor -99@10MHz and -101@ 5MHz signal strength -81/-84 -78/-81
2422 No link at either 5 or 10 MHz
2427 noise floor -95@10MHz and -101@ 5MHz signal strength -77/-79
2432 noise floor -95@10MHz and -101@ 5MHz signal strength -77/-79
2437 noise floor -98@10MHz and no link @ 5MHz signal strength -76/-79

It also works like this as well??
2412 at one end 2417 at the other noise floor -102@ 5MHz signal strength -77/-82
2412 at one end 2417 at the other noise floor -98@ 10MHz signal strength -81/-86
2432 at one end 2427 at the other noise floor -100@ 5MHz signal strength -78/-77
2437 at one end 2427 at the other noise floor -100@ 5MHz signal strength -78/-76

Has anyone else had this sort of results?
Are there other cards supported by MT that are suitable such as Zcomax?

this card uses a converter, to the software it looks like a regulat 2.4Ghz card, so you set all kinds of frequencies, but the card will convert them to 9XXmhz. Search the forum for SR9 to find the conversion table. In ROSv3 this will be done automatically and you will see 900mhz frequencies.

As for the different frequencies on both ends - it doesn't matter what you set in the client end, it will use what's set on the AP

Thanks normis, I do understand how the card works with the frequencies. The SR9 came with a table which lists 3,4,5,6 but not 1 (2412) So why does this work and not on 2422 ??
One end is running in ap bridge and the other station wds

2422Mhz -> 922Mhz
2427Mhz -> 917Mhz
2432Mhz -> 912Mhz
2437Mhz -> 907Mhz
