So what is the status? Is there any reply from official Mikrotik support? A "no" would be still very very much appreciated because it is an answer, instead of a "don't know".
PLEASE PLEASE PROVIDE AN ANSWER, because I've been searching around this forum and each time someone asks about this, the question is never answered!

Wireguard and the others still exist.

The SIP telephones that we sell do not support wireguard. It would be nice if I could use Mikrotik across the board for my customers.

No, seriously, there's absolutely NO reason to use OpenVPN on a MikroTik.
There's no space on 16MB devices to use the fully featured official OpenVPN implementation.
And to add more features to the implementation done by MikroTik ain't worth the devs time.
Use it as it is if you have a usecase for it, if not, use another VPN solution that has more features and is better supported.

Concur with Rextended and Zvena.
Wireguard will become widely used very rapidly.
