SNMP v2 Set System Location (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.6.0)
Posted: Wed Apr 22, 2020 4:06 pm
Hello,
As in the Title I am attempting to set a new Value to the System Location of a Mikrotik Device, which should be possible If I understand the Wiki correctly, yet I seem to be unable to succesfully do this. Command used: snmpset -d -v2c -c community xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.6.0 s foobar
An SNMP V2 community is set on the Device with Write access. The location field is set to writeable. Even After a Succesfull SnmpSet command sent to the Device the field is not updated.
This behaviour does not seem to be related to the software version I am using, nor the device model.
Tested on:
RouterOS RB3011UiAS (version 6.44 and 6.39.2)
RouterOS CCR1036-12G-4S (version 6.36.3 and 6.6)
RouterOS RB750GL (version 6.11 and 6.44)
Can anyone help on this issue.
Cordially
