When is V3 Beta 7 available

Could someone indicate when V3 Beta 7 is likely to be available as I am still having to restart V3 Beta 6, 2 to 3 times a day which makes it very unreliable. Thanks

Not for the same reason I'm answering this post...
But it's out of a 'damn curiousity overkill' why I post because I'm curious about when we can expect The Dude v3.0 beta 7 (or any other The Dude version). It's been a while since the release of both The Dude 2.2 and 3.0b6..

Can anyone shed some light on an expected date of release?
A great THANK YOU in that case..!

Regards,
Minollie

I asked the support for a working next beta...
Nothing received but the autoresponder with the ticket number. :(

Beta6 is unusable. You can't trust it. Here are the issues:

1. Dude stops to watch our network
2. Alerts are sent without any reason
3. If you have a notification schedule (for example "not in the deepest night" 23:00-06:00)
you will not received notifications about devices are down in the night. It is really a nice
surprise to have a friendly customer at 06:30 at the phone and you are thinking everything is
ok.

I will wait two again two weeks. If then nothing happens I will return to WhatsUp. :( :( :(

You might just not run beta software in situations where you need to be able to rely on the software and use the non-beta Dude 2.2 release...

After using dude from the beginning I remember that there are other issues in 2.2
The actual problems are well known by mikrotik. The only thing I want to have is an answer when MT will give out the next beta...

Can someone give us an ETA on the next BETA? It must going to have a lot of enhancements in it :D

I am using the regular release 2.2 just fine. Why not simply use this regular release, instead of using BETA's and then 'hassling' the creators about when a new release (of this free program) is due?

That's free software (to me): be glad with what you get, be supportive of the authors and don't complain.

No flame intended...

We want and need the new features that are coming. That's why we are asking. The BETAs were coming out a frequent pace and then all of a sudden stopped. It's just a simple question with the expectation of a simple answer: Next week, a month, never.

I agree with firebat. We are worried about the sudden stall in updates, too. The Dude is a great product and the improvements between the last releases showed that microtik is on the right track. It would be sad if this project gets abandoned.

Approaching 3 months tomorrow since the start of the thread. Still no comment from MT. :(

Dude v3 beta 4, 5 and 6 have serious icmp probe timing problems... SNMP timing as well.

Concur with contention that beta Dude seems to randomly stop monitoring network.
However, if you look at the bandwidth graphs, it seems to keep collecting data.
ICMP definitely is unstable. Totally down segments arent indicating 'red' even though 'ping' tools cant get to any devices. Thats pretty annoying, but it seems to have crept in as my implementation has gotten larger.
The only way to 'stimulate' the map to start refreshing again is to go to 'Label Refresh Interval' and temporily set it really short, like 1 second, then set it back to whatever it normally operated at. Then it seems to start displaying interface and SNMP data again.

Finally have gotten back to serious Dude development after a lot of network deployment, so I am sure I will find a few more things to comment on.

However, as some have mentioned, thankful for the changes already implemented, like cut and paste which has been a real time-saver. It also produces some very interesting results if you dig deep enough.....

Hello Normis,

Just a simple question...
What do you exactly mean with the statement that 'it will be out soon' from end of August 2007?
We'll have to wait a week more (already past that week), a month or how long?
There's a huge gap between the availability of The Dude v3.0b6 and The Dude v3.0b7 when you look at the rate updated versions saw daylight before the release of The Dude v3.0b6..

We're very anxious and waiting for the next release.. *beg beg* since we all seem to like The Dude so much.

Minollie

BTW, On large networks (I believe - 27M export backup) Dude 2.2 suddenly starts showing a few devices as unknown, all graphing data for that device get´s lost, right click - settings = nothing happends , all links and submaps below that unknown device get lost.

Any ideas on this issue? Should we wait for Beta 7 or 2.3 ?

Best Regards

Jorge Boardman

We are very keen to see Beta 7 too, I don't think we will be able to put up with the bugs in Beta 6 much longer (and no, 2.2 isn't a option for us due to some features we need that are in 3)
