Restart a device via R J45 port?

Mon May 25, 2020 3:54 pm

Hello dears.

I have a device wAP LTE RBwAPR-2nD&R11e-4G. Have ordered it just 2 days before and started to surf deeper:).

I will use that one as primary connectivity for the Base Station unit of IoT. With SIM card preinstalled. My question is: Is it possible to restart the endpoint device which has a link with router ( RJ 45 cable between) via RouterOs or Winbox?

Further, I can't connect to RouterOs? Does anybody has a step-by-step guide?

I appreciate your responses.

Mikrotik routerOS has build-in SSH and Telnet client, so if your endpoint device can be restarted via either, then you can do this from the Mikrotik.

from the LAN side, yes, using winbox or webfig
from the Internet, likely not, as you won't have a public IP to access. If you can get one from your ISP, then yes, you can access Mikrotik via either webfig or winbox. allow access to port 80 or 8291 (winbox) will do the trick. However, this is not secure and not recommended to allow access to the router by just opening the firewall. use a VPN to access the router, or at least limit source IP
