strange bridge problem on wireless

Sun Jun 03, 2007 1:15 pm

I have one link running fine. Its just 1km distance. There is a pppoe server connected with the other end. The authentication was going find frm last few months. Then suddenly it started failing to authenticate. Strangely I can ping the clients and everyone from the far end but cannot ping the server. From server i can ping the near end radio but can't ping the far end radio. I can see arp in the far end but no pinging. Just reboot the radio, the server will start pinging for few seconds after then rto. I can ping both radios with no problems. I can ping client from one end to other end with no problem. Unable to understand where is the problem. Here is the scenario as image

Ping PPPoE to AP

Ping AP to WDS-ST

Ping PPPoE to WDS-ST

thnx
ping pppoe <> AP .. Ok
ping pppoe <> wds-st RTO (but it shows in arp)
ping ap <>wds-st.............ok

for workaround we shifted the pppoesever to station side and everything is working well but one segment is dead as they can't use the net.

Change the IP of the WDS-ST and you should see the data flowing... I think there is some ARP problems which restricts the flow of data between PPPoE & WDS-ST.

Or else flush the arp entries in AP and WDS-ST and report back.

strange thing is everyone can ping everyone except the pppoe server. Server neither can ping the radio on far end nor the clients can ping the server ethernet which is an aliase. Could it be arp floods problem or any flooding problem. I changed the radio to other brand. It gave the same problem. The biggest prlblem is I can't monitor pppoe traffic.
