Other wireless interfaces slow when one is loaded??

Sun Jun 03, 2007 10:08 pm

I have had this site is for a while now and never had any problems, but finding when one user is downloading at around 2mbit on one wireless interface, all other 2.4's slow down. They are even connected to different MT's. I have replaced the SR2 card with a new one and inspected the joints to the antenna. They are all in thick wall glue filled heat shrink and look fine. I have upgraded to the latest OS. When it happens I cannot even winbox the MT or the MT on which I am connecting to. It has 2 backhauls going into the site and they we are sending data from that interface out a different one to the others. The backhauls are running no where near the limit. If I slow the connection to 1Mbit all works fine.

Site has
4 MT's
1xMT with 2xSR2
1xMT with 1xSR5 1xSR2 which this cust is connect to
1xMT with 1xSR2 ramped back and 1xCM9 1xSR
1xMT SR9

All MT are in the same box except the one with the SR9
One antenna on 2.4 has a different pol. All antennas pointing in different directions.
All antennas have lightning protection
All Antenna cables are connected to the ufl on the radios
The radios are spread over different channels

Customer connecting with a Senao CB3

The only thing that has changed of late is the addition of the SR9 and the extra back haul (we have tried turning the backhaul off .. makes no difference)

I see one radio has a high ack ( should not be that high)

Any thoughts appreciated

Bill, you have given me a couple of ideas.
I have not had any problems in the past so think it a little strange it has happened now. The separation is at least 600-700mm between each antenna. Using 60x35 deg beam width.
I have to visit the site again shortly so will move a couple of them to give even more separation.
I think the pigtails should be ok as signal strength of clients look fine, but will replace the one on the antenna I have been having trouble with. Maybe change the antenna also.
I will run some tests at night and see how it looks.

Dear bro,

I got the same problem, when one member is loaded all members become very very slow... I've tried and tried to get the answer, but until now I still can not fix it. I just know that the bandwidth limiter configuration causes this problem, I've changed the configuration many many times, the problem is only fixed for several days.. I think maybe I know nothing about mikrotik, so I need someone expert on mikrotik setting & configuration to help me configure the bandwidth management.

The reason why I am so sure the problem is not on the wireless things or antennas is my networking structure has 2 segments of network, one is Wireless and another is wired one. All become slower when one of both segments' member is loaded.

I hope we can get the solution ASAP.

Rgds,
