Gateway interface unknown

Wed Jun 13, 2007 11:39 pm

i've got a simple problem using the following config:

ip address add address=172.18.4.253/22 interface=wlan1
ip route add gateway=172.18.4.1

the problem is that the interface for the gateway is unknown instead of wlan1, how do i fix that?

also, i'm using 2.9.38

it's unknown because wlan1 isn't running, or is disabled, or isn't associated ?

It is enabled. What do you mean by "associated"?
Also, I noticed this morning that even though it will scan I keep getting a "searching for network" message at the bottom of the "Interface<wlan1>" window.

Is there a possibility my wlan card is bad?

Try reboot router ,maybe is problem in antena.
Searching for network means , that you are not connected to other side!

Turns out it was a bad R52, I replaced it and the config works fine.

'associated' means connected somewhere
